We invite and gather people from all ages, backgrounds, and cultures for workshops and events and related to the bicycle and the environment. These events supports the Bike Health, and the Bike Booster programs, acting as a transforming gear towards good health and social changes.
The bicycle as a catalyst for social change
One of our monthly events is the Bike & Art workshop, where we develop partnerships with anchor local institutions and provide all the necessary supplies and instructions for the participants to use their own imagination to create amazing art pieces. The items created during these workshops are for sale and the profits goes to support women in financial need.
Another well-known yearly event at Ecogrella is the Winter Clothing Biking Away, where we serve as a collection point for people to donate winter clothes and blankets to be delivered by our bike team to every person living in social vulnerability we encounter on our way. Every April we hold the Bike and Crochet event, where local cyclists produce winter hats that are donated during the winter time for those in need.
Every December, we hold the White Elephant pedal in pro of family time, bike rides and hand-made gifts!
Throughout the year we offer the mobile bike clinics in the community we serve. We provide the bikes, helmets, and tools, as well as adult instructors who give lessons on bike safety, skill development and basic bike maintenance. The mobile bike clinics often incorporate trail and urban rides providing first hands-on experience with the bike to many people.
We support cyclists from all over the world who needs a hostel to recharge their energy and spend couple of days exploring the region. Additionally, we foster the time and dedication of local artists, promoting and encouraging their work in every way we can.
